The Department of Chemistry was opened based on the letter of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education No. 1/2306 dated 11/28/1432 AH regarding the recommendation of the Higher Education Council in its (sixty-sixth) session held on 10/20/1432 AH to approve the restructuring of some departments of Prince University faculties Sattam bin Abdulaziz, where the opening and activation of the Chemistry Department was approved, in response to the rapid and rapid steps taken by Salman bin Abdulaziz University towards progress and excellence, and to keep pace with the national needs for scientific, specialized and trained cadres in the field of chemistry. The study began in the female section in the year 1433/1434 AH, followed by That is, students joined the department in the year 1434/1435 AH.
The Department of Chemistry is characterized by keeping pace with scientific progress and its members’ keenness to be on a high level of responsibility and scientific awareness, and the need for the department’s graduates to be armed with the latest and most sober scientific information.
