As part of the English Language Department's framework in the College of Sciences and Humanities to seek to provide unique training opportunities for students wishing to enlist into field training for this year, the Field Training Committee within the department has organized an activity in collaboration with the institute of Wall Street English under the name "Exploring Training Opportunities" which was held on Sunday 17/7/1440H.
The event included many activities, such as: Providing opportunities for training in the field of teaching English at the institute, holding a placement test online for free for students of the department, as well as a workshop for American lecturer William Dawson which went over the importance of learning English using modern technology, and practicing the language using social media application
The event also included a speech from Dr. Harun Nasir Al-Saqer, the college Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, in which he emphasized the importance of creating relationships with companies and institutions that are active in society to provide training opportunities for students to hone their skills and link them to the reality of the job market's environment, and, at the same time, bridge the gap between theoretical study in the university and practical application in real life.
Within the same context, Dr. Mohammad Qassem, the coordinator for the field training committee, explained that the department is particularly interested in providing training opportunities that match the academic goals of the program and the student's specialization, and that the selection process for the parties involved in the training involves many criteria, such as credibility, the quality of the training programs provided, and the presence of qualified supervisors.
The participants were eager to share their opinions regarding the process of executing field training and ways to elevate it. The event was marked by student participation in all activities There were many questions and enquiries made by the students, and all were answered by Dr. Harun, who wished the students all the best in their training and in their future career.
The event ended by showcasing model successful students from the department that had undergone training within the Wall Street English Institute, and later joined it as coaches and lecturers after graduating.
