The College of Sciences and Humanities in Al-Kharj carried out a virtual evacuation experiment at ten thirty in the morning on Wednesday, 8/2/2023, with the participation of other departments in the building from the employees of the College of Education and the Deanship of Admission and Registration, where the approved emergency plan was applied to evacuate the buildings, in cooperation with the Security and Safety Department at the university and the university hospital.
It is worth noting that the work teams and committees were able to complete the complete evacuation of the building within less than 3 minutes, which is a record number for emergency response from the evacuation of about 1000 people present in the designated area for training, in light of the rapid movement of the competent teams and employees when hearing the alarm bell and heading to the emergency exits and the commitment to stand at the assembly points, and the evacuation plan also included the implementation of the hypothesis of an emergency ambulance for the college's employees with the participation of the university hospital employees.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Ibrahim Al Harthy, explained that the implementation of the evacuation process aims to preserve lives, property and facilities of the College, and that this training comes within a series of practical exercises, to assess the extent of readiness to deal with emergencies in cases of fires and disasters, and raise the level of readiness, which contributes to enhancing efforts to protect all employees of the College and ensure their safety, by allowing identification of the necessary measures to be taken in such
circumstances in accordance with safety and prevention requirements, and in application of the health management system. and safety.
His Excellency the Dean of the College also thanked the Department of Security and Safety, the Department of Maintenance and Operation, the University Hospital and all those who contributed and participated in the success of the evacuation plan.
