Dear students, on behalf of myself and my colleagues in the department, I am pleased to welcome you to the Biology Department and wish you a successful academic path.
With Allah's help and blessing and the efforts of the education authorities under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may Allah protect him, the Biology Department was established at the Faculty of Science and Humanities at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University in 1433 AH as one of the important biology departments in the Arab world. It aims to prepare distinguished graduates who can compete for job opportunities locally, regionally, and internationally based on academic standards adopted by the university. The result of these academic standards is a cadre that the country can be proud of, which meets the needs of the labour market and many vital entities and specialties in our beloved Kingdom.
Within the context of the vision and mission of the faculty, the department provides a comprehensive and high-level academic program that integrates theoretical studies with practical applications in all its specialties in Plant, Animal, Microbiology, and Molecular biology. The faculty staff of the department undertakes educational, research, and community responsibilities in various biology disciplines and in topics related to the environment and society that are relevant to the biology specialties.
Moreover, the department provides curriculums for university students in other specialties, such as preparatory year students and chemistry department students.
The department is staffed by a distinguished group of faculty members who spare no effort to serve our students, not only in scientific aspects but also in all personal and social aspects of life.
In addition to the academic life in the department, the faculty provides a variety of social and recreational activities that students practice with the participation of faculty staff. The university encourages and motivates students to participate in these activities locally and internationally. The department is equipped with a number of scientific units to support teaching for students with the latest facilities, educational technology, and remote education, in addition to laboratories in various specializations of the department and distinguished laboratory technicians.
Today, as you begin one of the most important stages of building the future of our beloved Kingdom, we shall approach this task with the utmost seriousness, perseverance, patience, determination, and dedication to realizing our legitimate aspirations for the promising days ahead.
In conclusion, I wish you an enjoyable academic path at the university with your colleagues and the faculty staff of the college and department, and a fruitful academic performance that culminates in success and prosperity with Allah's blessing.
