Academic guidance unit
The unit aims to familiarize students with the Academic Regulations and administrative laws at the University, and what they need from the fields and opportunities of study, to help them choose the specialties that match their abilities and potential, and to match their preferences and desires, as well as help them achieve their study goals.
Tasks of the academic guidance unit:
- Help the student / discover himself by recognizing his / her abilities, readiness, inclinations, skills, and understanding the problems he / she faces of any kind.
- Allowance student to understand his environment, physical and social, including the potential transfer, and take advantage of its potential self, and possibilities in the environment; to achieve realistic goals in his proper planning to achieve these goals.
- Develop the student's ability to make decisions.
- Achieve the mental health of the student and contribute to helping and training him / her to solve his / her own problems.
- Develop the student's ability to communicate, consult and express opinions freely and responsibly.
- Connect the student to his / her community for the purpose of developing his / her positive social personality.
- Give the student the ability to change for the better, and with unforeseen variables.
- Calendar of services-educational, extra-curricular- directed to students.
- Activating student activities.
- The participation of students in decisions through the dissemination of a culture of dialogue, and advisory councils, student, activate their roles in the college.
- Determine the future needs of students in view of the college's vision and its future aspirations.
- Follow-up on the academic performance of all students continuously through the study material rapporteurs and department heads and touch cases of academic stumbling.
- Study and address academic stumbles individually.
- Study student cases requiring psychological, social, or financial support and help overcome these problems either directly through the college administration or by referral to specialists in coordination with the relevant authorities at the University.
- Holding seminars and courses necessary to develop students' achievement, intellectual and interactive skills; to develop the concept of positive personality and drive them to excellence both academically and personally.
- Providing career advice and guidance to students, introducing them to available job opportunities and enhancing their ability to choose by hiring experienced faculty members, inviting specialists and hosting interested employers.
- Help new students in the college to adapt and engage in the educational atmosphere of the college is quick, accessible by introducing them to the services of the unit and meet their needs.
